Coronavirus (COVID-19) Care Advice

Open with you in mind

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis we’ve been doing everything we can to protect our customers, team members and the local community, while continuing to provide urgent and essential care to those who need it.

With Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions being applied to certain postcodes within Victoria until the end of July, we are pleased to advise that our stores located within these postcodes are continuing to remain open to assist patients and customers with their eye and hearing care needs. You are still able to book an appointment, but if you require assistance with a repair or adjustment, please call your local store.

If you live in any of the affected postcodes and are currently feeling unwell, have recently been unwell, had any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or are currently waiting for results from a recent COVID-19 test, we ask for your understanding in booking an appointment for a later date when you are cleared of potential COVID-19 transmission.

To protect our customers and team members, our stores will be practicing social distancing and we will be limiting the number of people that can be in our stores at one time.

You will find a poster at the front of the store detailing how many people can be in the store at one time. One of our team members will be at the front of the store to assist customers.

We’re doing everything we can to keep customers and team members safe in-store. This includes cleaning the retail area throughout the day, including frames and hearing aids, disinfecting test rooms and equipment after each patient we see, and following government guidelines and using protective equipment when required.

We’ve made it even easier to buy replacement glasses if you’ve lost or broken your pair from us.

This service is available for Specsavers customers with a valid prescription, seeking a same pair replacement of lost or broken glasses.

Stores will be offering adjustment and repair services once they have re-opened for routine care. However, to help manage the number of people in-store, we ask for your assistance in contacting your local store to arrange a time to come in for an adjustment or repair of broken glasses.

You can also make some simple repairs and adjustments to your glasses at home, following our how-to video guides.

If you have an existing order for glasses or contact lenses that was placed through your local store, your store will contact you to arrange a time to pick them up or, if you are unable to visit the store, to deliver them to your home.

Our stores will be following a contactless pick up process to protect the health of our customers and our team members.

While glasses orders usually take up to 10 working days to arrive, we are experiencing delays with orders due to the reduction in air freight routes from our supply chain locations and Australia Post delays in processing and delivering parcels within their network as a result of COVID-19.

All orders placed prior to April 16 have been shipped to stores. We are doing our best to get all orders out to our customers as quickly as possible. If you want to find out the status of your order, please contact your local store.

Once stores are fully re-open, customers can again place orders for new glasses or contact lenses in-store.

Customers can also continue to buy glasses and contact lenses online with contactless delivery direct to your door. All you need is a valid prescription. To find out how easy it is to buy online, click here.
