How to buy glasses and contact lenses online

Did you know you can now buy your glasses and contact lenses online if you have a valid prescription? Buying online is simple, just follow these easy steps to help you along the way.

Step 1. Choose Your Frames

Now it is even easier to choose your frames with virtual try on and recommendations. Simply click the ‘Try on’ button, and follow the 3D tool’s prompts to visualise the selected frame on your face. Select from a range of styles and brands, or use our buyer's guide to help you choose a pair of glasses.

If you love the frames you already have, you can reorder them online. Look for the 8-digit number inside the left temple of your frames. Search for this number on our website, and if the glasses are still in stock you’ll find them straight away.

Step 2. Enter Your Prescription

You will need a copy of your prescription to buy glasses online. If you don’t know your prescription or if it has expired please contact your local store. If you already have your prescription, find out how to read it. Contact lenses and glasses prescriptions are different.

You can purchase online with most single vision prescriptions of up to +/-6. For all other prescriptions, please visit your local store.

We now sell non-prescription glasses online. Simply select ‘non-prescription’ to buy glasses or sunglasses without a prescription. You cannot claim non-prescription glasses using your optical extras.

Step 3. Choose Your Lenses

Next select the lens options and treatments to enhance your glasses. All Specsavers glasses come with standard single vision lenses plus a scratch resistant treatment.

Step 4. Checkout

Once you’re happy with your order you can proceed to payment. Your glasses will then be made to order and delivered for free on orders over $79. Orders usually take up to 10 working days to be delivered.

If for any reason you are not happy with your glasses you can return them to us. no quibble, no fuss.

If you’re a health fund member you can claim your purchase via your health fund's claims process, once you've completed your purchase.

Buying contact lenses online

Step 1. Choose Your Contact Lenses

We stock a wide variety of products and lens types to suit all sorts of contact lens needs. Choose the lenses you want and how many you need.

Step 2. Enter Your Prescription

You’ll need a copy of your current prescription to buy contact lenses online. If you don’t know your prescription you can find it on the box of your current contact lenses. Otherwise, you can contact your local store.

Step 3. Checkout

Review your basket to ensure you’ve entered the correct details. If you’ve never purchased contact lenses online with us, you’ll need to select “I’m a new customer” and enter your details, including your preferred local store for aftercare needs.

Finally, complete your payment using a credit or debit card, and your contact lenses will be on their way to you shortly. If you’re a member of certain health funds, you can claim instantly online with Tyro Health. Otherwise, after you've completed your purchase you can claim with your health fund using their claims process.
