How do I claim glasses with health insurance?

If you have optical extras as part of your policy, visit our friendly team in store and they can assist you with what you can claim. If you’ve never had prescription glasses before, we recommend booking in for an Eye Health Check with a Specsavers optometrist. Having an Eye Health Check can help determine if you need to start wearing glasses and if you do, you’ll be given a prescription — which is required when claiming your glasses. If you already wear prescription glasses, we recommend having your eyes tested every two years, or more often if you notice any changes to your vision and if you are over 60 we recommend having an Eye Health Check every year.

With most health insurers, you can claim your rebate on the spot in-store. If you have an Eye Health Check with us, we’ll keep your prescription on file so all you need to remember is your health fund card to make claiming easy.
