"For anybody missing conversations, don't hold back: get your hearing checked." ‑ Dave Durie
Hearing the moments that matter ‑ with Jamie Durie.
Jamie Durie welcomes us into his home and introduces us to his father, Dave Durie who has recently rediscovered the joys of everyday sounds.
We’re granted a glimpse into their lives and shared passion of tending to the bonsai garden whilst discussing how hearing aids have helped re‑welcome Dave to the table and to conversations he’d been missing out on.
Dave shares with us the importance of getting a hearing check even for younger men – including his son, Jamie.
Sound of the life you love.
Meet Denise – a retired teacher, grandmother, and passionate quilter living just outside Perth – who rediscovered the joy of everyday life through her hearing aids. Like many individuals, Deniseʼs hearing loss crept in gradually. She found herself lip‑reading, turning up the TV, and feeling disconnected in busy restaurants and family conversations. That’s why she’s passionate about sharing her story to help others understand what’s possible when you can finally hear life clearly again.
"I love catching up with Carla at my local Specsavers store. She's like family." ‑ Denise
"I went to Specsavers, and I've been happy ever since. The hearing aids fit in nicely behind my ears." ‑ Mike
The roar of the crowd.
For Mike Green, sport isn't just a game – it's a way of life. Living in Colac, Victoria, Mr Green’s love for his football club runs deep, second only to his love for his wife, Heather. Whether he's cheering at the MCG or watching the local games in Colac, the roar of the crowd is something he cherishes deeply.
Now retired from teaching, Mike began to realise his hearing was fading, so he acted by getting a hearing check at his local Specsavers. For him, hearing aids have been life‑changing, allowing him to fully enjoy every moment on and off the field.

Mary's Story.
Starting your journey to better hearing can be daunting, overwhelming, and confusing. Meet Mary.
Mary started to notice her hearing gradually getting worse and was starting to affect her life at work and at home. She was missing out on the most important parts of conversations and was beginning to feel isolated. It wasn’t until her family encouraged her to go and get her hearing checked that she acted. After doing some research, and finding her local Specsavers Audiology Professional, Kieran Cullinan, Mary went through diagnostic testing and Kieren guided her through the various options to suit her hearing goals, lifestyle and budget. The change in Mary’s life has been extraordinary. “I love being able to hear again”.

Only getting busier with age...
For Queensland resident Grace Du Prie, embracing life to the fullest means tackling challenges head‑on, including the often‑overlooked issue of hearing loss that affects one in six Australian adults.
Ms Du Prie credits getting her hearing checked with allowing her to live life to the fullest. "Once I got my hearing aids fitted and started using them, I found the world opened up again. Without proper hearing, you can become quite isolated," she says. "Without my hearing aids, I couldn’t do the work I do now. I would've had to stay home. And how boring is that!"
