Help and frequently asked questions

What is a convergence test?

Answer:

This is a test that the optometrist does in order to test the ability of your eyes to come together effectively as you focus close to. They will do this by asking you to focus on a target held say 70cms from your eyes and then move the target closer to your eyes.

If your eyes are unable to converge effectively this may cause problems such as double vision when you are looking at objects close to you. Convergence can be affected by the functioning of the muscles and varies with age.
