Help and frequently asked questions

What is the Titmus fly test?

Answer:

This is a test which the optometrist uses (normally with children) to detect stereopsis (the ability to perceive depth) and therefore identify conditions where stereopsis is absent eg amblyopia.

The optometrist asks the person to put on a pair of specially tinted glasses through which a picture can be seen. They asks questions about the picture can work out from the responses whether stereopsis is present.
