Jillian Jackson is a stylish 65 year old from Hobart who has just been announced as the winner of our inaugural #LoveGlasses campaign. I was lucky to spend two days at Melbourne Fashion Week, where we enjoyed a behind the scenes experience – what a buzz! Taking part in the campaign has been wonderful! I was looked after like a rock star and the photoshoot was a lot of fun. Nothing was too much trouble! I’m going to love selecting my new glasses from Specsavers’ stunning new range and I can’t thank Specsavers enough for this fantastic opportunity!

I was so excited to announced as the winner of the #LoveGlasses campaign and it is great to know that just by posting a specs selfie, it is helping others in need. My glasses are beautiful but also comfortable, and I get lots of comments about how good they look, which makes me feel even more confident wearing them and I hope I can encourage others to feel confident wearing their glasses too.”

I only recently found out that I needed glasses, but they have already become my statement accessory. I instantly feel more confident as soon as I put them on.

After months of blurred vision followed by severe eye strain I went into Specsavers and the optometrist said I definitely needed glasses and probably had for a while. At the time I was having a lot of trouble with my body image and self confidence, after years of fluctuating weight. Feeling that low meant that any positivity around my image was cherished and I found that on days when my clothes weren’t fitting or I didn’t feel good, I could put my new glasses on and know they suited me. They helped me regain some confidence and over the following months I was able to build on that and start to feel myself again.

I love to match my frames to my personality and see them as an expression of my style. I love that glasses can change your look completely – the more styles the better!

I love the versatility of glasses - a fashion accessory that also protects my eyes from the sun’s UV rays.

Entries are currently open for the newest instalment of the #LoveGlasses campaign and Specsavers is again calling on glasses wearers to post a spec selfie to social media with #LoveGlasses and @SpecsaversAustralia for a chance to win a trip overseas to the value of $5,000 plus $1,000 spending money and a year’s supply of glasses.

$1 from every spec selfie will be donated to The Fred Hollows Foundation, who work hard to restore sight to the needlessly blind.
