Good hygiene is essential to keep your eyes healthy and contact lenses in good condition. If you drop a lens you need to rinse it thoroughly with saline at the very least. Ideally clean and disinfect it again before insertion. Some disinfection solutions will complete the process in just a couple of hours - check your solution instructions. If you have daily disposable contact lenses it is recommended that you discard the dropped lens and open a new one to replace it.
